Dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge. The 5 Ds of Dodgeball.

Peg other people. Catch it when they throw it at you (or get out of the way) and you should be fine.

Event Format:
Your team will pair up with another team to form an 8-person super squad.

At the time of the event, the 1st place team will join the 8th place team. 2nd place will join 7th. 3rd will join 6th. 4th will join 5th.

Games will be 10 minutes long or until each member of a team is knocked out, whichever comes first.

10 Girl Games points for each win.
5 Girl Games points for each loss.

Event Rules:

  • No fighting, wrestling, slide tackling, or kicking other players. The first person who touches a ball, gets the ball. You are not allowed to kick balls. An attempt to kick a ball will result in you being out.

  • To start, 8 balls will be placed along the midfield line. The 4 balls on the right are your team's balls. You can only grab those 4 balls to start, you cannot go after the 4 left balls.

  • Activate the balls. There will be an attack/activation line. Once you retrieve the balls from the center, you must "activate" them by bringing them back past the line. Then you can start hucking balls at each other.

  • Attack line:
There is an attack line set out by cones. If you step over that line to throw at the other team, you are out.

  • Catching:
If you catch a ball thrown at you, the person who threw the ball is out.

In our game, you do not get to bring back a player by catching the ball.

  • Ricochet
Only person at whom the ball is thrown can catch it for an out. If the ball bounces off the player who is the target or a ball that player is holding, and another teammate catches the thrown ball, the player that threw the ball is not out as a result of the catch. If the ball hit a player and bounced, the player hit is out.

If you are holding a ball and the other team throws a ball at you that you try and block with your ball, and your ball is knocked out of your hands, you are out.

If you deflect the ball with your ball, but it still hits you (ricochet), you are not out.
